Obama Calls For Honest Debate On Health Care

In his Saturday weekly radio address, President Obama called for an honest debate on health care saying:

“But it also should be an honest debate, not one dominated by willful misrepresentations and outright distortions, spread by the very folks who would benefit the most by keeping things exactly as they are.”

Finally, I thought, he gets it. We can have an honest debate now that he is finally willing to stop the willful misrepresentations like “If you like your Health Insurance plan, you can keep it”, all the while knowing his plans are to regulate private insurance out of the market.

And he will finally stop his outright distortions. No more telling people that his plan will drive down costs because of government competition. Or claiming the insurance companies are making record profits by overcharging on premiums. Everyone knows that insurance companies have been investing premiums in Stocks and Real Estate, often taking a loss on premiums, but making up the money on investments. (Something, by the way, the Government Option will NOT do – make money.)

And finally, those making money by spreading rumors and lies will stop. Like David Axelrod and his family and Obama’s campaign manager David Plouffe who have made millions promoting Obamacare according to CBS News.

As it turns out, President Obama has no intention of halting or even slowing down on the outright lies spewing from his mouth, even stooping to spamming Americans and attempting to shift blame for that intrusion. But, as it turns out, not only was Obama responsible for the spam emails, he used TAX DOLLARS to pay for it!

In their weekly address, Republicans pointed out the misinformation and distortions coming from Obama.

Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga, a doctor, said:

As opposition to the Democrats’ government-run health plan is mounting, the president has said he’d like to stamp out some of the disinformation floating around out there. The problem is the president, himself, plays fast and loose with the facts.

Price said that the whole plan should be scrapped and lawmakers should start over with a plan that makes sure patients are the top priority, not Washington or insurance providers.

We all know that when the government is setting the rules and is backed by tax dollars, it will destroy, not compete with, the private sector, the reality is, whether or not you get to keep your plan, or your doctor, is very much in question under the president’s proposal.

I think we all agree this should be an honest debate. Unfortunately, Obama’s roots in Chicago Politics preclude him from a fundamental understanding of what honest debate really means.

His “I won”, and “Shut up an do what I say” attitude is not going to allow honest debate. His plummeting poll numbers show Americans are on to his scams.
